- 'fraid this is another bit of old rope rather than anything new, I wanted to get rid of the double-effect of the ID pic that's been lounging around on me front page for quite a while now. Actually I should've checked first to make sure I didn't already post this feller before, I don't think so though...

...anyway, Red Squirrel: sculpture approximately life-size (they never sit still long enough for you to get a tape-measure on 'em though, the little buggers), made this about eleven years ago when I was unemployed and unemployable and wondering what to do with myself, and it ended up making me start sculpting all sorts of little bitty birds and frogs and whatnot. Sculpted using my old mate milliput, built up over a core of shaped packaging-foam (that stuff that holds your telly or whatever in place 'til you take it out of the box), drilled in several places and glued well and truly to a couple of bits of old wood, in the days before I started actually sculpting the wood-effect too. Also, little snippety-bits of fishing-line for the whiskers. The tail's unfortunately at exactly the wrong angle to see the little kink at the end where it bends over, but never mind eh? And the front leg looks kinda weird too from this side on, 'cause the rest of it with the rear-arm-and-elbow configuration of things is bent up underneath him. Or possibly her - I didn't think it polite to look.

- yeah, I cheated with the pine-cone, too - such a lazy old git.
