...about blummin' time I got this big berk finished, intit?

- so.

Drofaels Ku Dokseni, chief-king of the Dokseni Tribe of the ogres of the Dark Mountains, last and largest of The Six of Nine, lording it large over them daft dwarves always going on about their kings under the mountain - Thror and Thrain? Pfft. Watch 'em scuttle back to their burrows when Drofaels gets geared up for a day at the office...

- much of that won't make much sense - some will, to them with a bit of a grounding in Tolkien's tale-tellings, but even to them some of the rest of it won't mean anything much, until such time as I get around to writing the book of the film, as it were. And even then, it'll all be quite confusing, so.

Anyway, here's 'Big Drof' then, as only his friends are allowed to call him (very cautiously), though it's often just 'Drof' for the sake of shortness, which helps when you're talking to someone who's not at all short - being, as he is, somewhere in the region of 8' 3" in height.

- well, in scale-size, that is: he's just over 12 inches and/or 300mm or thereabouts, making him an eighth-scale example of himself, if he were ever to be that small - which, in fact, he is, ergo sum. Or not sum, but something, since sum would be me, and generally I don't look like this even on my best days.

Glad we got all that out of the way. So yeah: 1/8th scale sculpt, plasticene massing-out over aluminium armature, skinned up in milliput, with added bits and pieces by way of perspex for the sword-blade, and plasticard and greenstuff for some of the dangly bits that would otherwise be way too fragile. Lastly, paint, in various colours - but you probably guessed as much as far as that goes :)

Had to faff about with the photo quite a bit to get him back to looking like his actual colour, for some reason my little digi liked to think of him as being a lot more Shrek-like in tone, very strange. The tongue on his trouser-trinkets stayed resolultely RED though, a right old bit of neon, strangely enough it's done with exactly the same paint as his mohawk, which has come out subtler, but there you go. Anyone for a comment revolving around the non-lying reputation of cameras?

- oh, and for any that's interested, you can have a sneaky shufty at some of the belt-detail here.

I personally think we should take all the world leaders, put them in a bull-pit and let them fight to the death. Then the rest of us can go party.

A man who steals bread is desperate; a man who steals art is pond-scum.
